Ok, so I figured it was now time for an update on what's been going on here.
Last weekend we got picked up on Saturday afternoon at around 1:30 by a Pastor and he took us back to Komaki where we were going to stay for the weekend. Instead of staying altogether this time, we got split up into groups of two's and we were each staying with different people. Darlene and I roomed together, and the woman who hosted us was Keiko Sakurai. (I think Sakurai means Cherry blossom in Japanese). So we got there and put our stuff in the house, then went back to the church where we were going to hang out with some english students for the afternoon/evening. We sang a song in Japanese (they sang, we listened) and then we performed our drime, sang two songs, and Brianna gave her testimony. It went really well. Then we started to watch the Narnia Movie. Not the newest one, but "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe". Unfortunately we didn't get to finish it because supper was ready. For supper we had Yaki Soba. It was so delicious! I think that that is definitely one of my favourite meals that we eat here. It is fried soba noodles with onions and cabbage and some meat, usually pork I think. After the meal we went back to the homes we were staying and visited with our host families. Keiko and her son visited with us all evening. We got to try on Kimono's and try some Japanese tea! It was a lot of fun, and I'm glad we got too, because it is part of experiencing the Japanese culture!
In the morning we went to Church, where we again performed our drime and two different songs. It went really well. Keiko and her son came for the service, even though they dont' usually attend the church. That was really awesome! Darlene and I prayed for them before we went to bed that God was working in their lives, and that they would come to know Him. They sat with us and it seemed like they were paying attention and following along in the bibles. I hope and pray that they continue to go to church and that God would work in their lives! After the service we had a bbq lunch with the Church family, and then we finished watching Narnia. Brianna and Darlene and I went to this woman's house for supper, where we had make your own sushi. It was deliscious!! The only thing that I didn't like were the fermented beans. They smellt really bad, and tasted bad as well. But oh well you don't have to like everything! After dinner they drove us back home! It was a good weekend.
This week has been pretty uneventful, but yesterday afternoon some ladies from the church came and picked us up and took us to the park for a picnic to see the Cherry blossoms! We had a great time. They boug
ht so much food, which was all delicious by the way!! We also played this fun game, where you had to tie a towel around your neck and then clap two times and pass it on. Then another towel was started and you had to do the same thing, if you got both towels at the same time because you weren't quick enough then you lost! Amber lost and had to wear this funny looking headband. We had a great time!! We also got to walk around and see the cherry blossoms, they were so beautiful! We took a bunch of pictures, and just had an all around good day.
