Well if you could guess by the title, tonight we watched the movie The Notebook. Being the sappy girls that we are, we passed around the kleenex boxe because at the end most of us were sitting there sniffling, it's a sad and beautiful ending all at the same time. If you haven't seen the movie I won't give it away..but I suggest you watch if if you want to watch a beautiful love story unfold. Yes there are parts that are sketchy and may need fast forwarding, but all in all it is a beautiful story. Something that strikes me the most is how Noah pursue's Allie. He pursues and pursues and pursues and lets nothing stop him from loving her. Even when circumstances have pulled them apart he still keeps their love alive in memories and his actions of fixing up that house. All because of his promise to love her. It's so beautiful. Pretty much the desire of every girls heart is to be loved and pursued like that.
It reminds me of God. God never stops loving and never stops pursuing. He is constantly, in so many ways seeking our love and wanting us to love him in return. So many times we turn away, and we argue with him and we are angry with him and we run away and try and hide. But He is always there waiting for when we return. We are His first love whom He will never leave. And He is the love that can surpass everything else. It is a love that loves no matter what. Not despite our weakness but because of them, because that means we need Him. We can each have a beautiful love story in our lives if we let God love us the way He wants to. May we let God love us, and each day may we discover another part of His great Love for us. God is the pursuer, He will never stop until He catches us, and then He will woo us every day in so many ways.
Here is a quote from Rob Bell's book, 'Sex God'. It talks about God's love for us. A great love. Agape love.
"Agape is a particular kind of love. Love is often seen as a need, something we got from others. Agape is the opposite. Agape gives.
...Agape doesn't love somebody because they're worthy.
Agape makes them worhty be the strength and power of its love.
Agape doesn't love somebody because they're beautiful.
Agape loves in such a way that makes them beauitful."
God Bless:)
