IKEA, Swing Dancing and Church

This weekend was very relaxed. Friday we had a regular day with sessions. In the morning we prayed over the Mark Center, and over the rooms and just asked God's presence to fill the building, and allow His Spirit to be at work there. Then we had a short break and we had some missionaries, Ray and Judy Harms-Wiebe come and speak to us on forgiveness. They had been missionaries for 18 years at a Church. At the moment I can't for the life of me remember where it was they were missionaries. Shoot. Oh well. If I remember I will add it on later. They had experienced some rough times and had to go through the process of forgiving people in their Church. It was neat to hear how they worked things through, and how they were still dealing with them and processing them.

I think that I forgot to mention that TREK assigns mentors to us while we are here, to check up on how we are doing and such. I think this is a great idea. Now we have two mentors going on, one at home and one here. At home my mentor is Terence, my former youth pastor. And my assigned mentor here is Christy Best. She is the wife of John Best, one of the guys on the Leadership team. We got to meet on Friday after lunch. I had met her before a couple of times, but it was nice to go off and chat. I am looking forward to continuing to meet with her. It is especially nice because she hangs around every so often and her husband is a part of TREK, so when I talk about things she understands what is going on, on a first hand level pretty much. This is awesome. I look forward to continuing this.

Then in the afternoon we had work duties. We have work duties usually twice a week. And during this time we do different forms of work, whatever is needed either around the Mark Center or at the MBMSI Offices at CBC. This allows us to serve others, as well as work as a team. I always enjoy these. Thankfully it wasn't raining this time, which always makes it much more pleasant. We we working in the flowers, clearing out all the weeds and leaves and stuff. It is nice to drive by and see how good it looks once we are done!!

Then Saturday we slept in. This was wonderful! :) Then after lunch we drove near Vancouver to the IKEA where we spent a coupl of hours looking around. We also took some fun pictures in the fake "house" setups. I posted a couple for you to enjoy.

The rest of the day was spent just relaxing or doing whatever we choose to do. A bunch of us went in the hottub after supper and then just relaxed. It is nice to be able to do this. And the hottub was very nice and warm!

Today we went to Church. We all went to different ones. Myself and Breanne and Joanna went to The Life Center Church which is at an elementary School here in the city. It is a very small church, but I really enjoyed it. I also look forward to attending different Churches during my time here. Some I would like to attend are The Vineyard and The Bridge. Hopefully I will get a chance.
This afternoon we are probably going Swing dancing!!!! This will be a ton of fun I think. I'll let you know how it goes ;)
To end off I would just like to leave this verse. I really like it.
"And there is no God apart from me,
a righteous God and a Savior;
there is none but me.
Turn to me and be saved,
all you ends of the earth;
for I am God, and there is no other...
Before me every knee will bow;
by me every tongue wil swear.
They will say of me, 'In the LORD alone
are righteousness and strength.' ''
-Isaiah 45: 21b -22; 23b- 24
